Over the past few weeks, Education First FCU employees came together to support a paws-itively good cause! Led by an employee, staff participated in a donation drive benefiting the Humane Society of Southeast Texas and helped provide essential supplies for animals in need.
Serving the community since 1962, the Humane Society of Southeast Texas is dedicated to enriching the lives of pets and people through advocacy, education, and finding forever homes for companion animals. From providing daily necessities to helping animals find loving families, the organization's work plays an important role in animal welfare throughout Southeast Texas.
Thanks to our employees' generosity, Education First FCU raised $500 to support the Humane Society's efforts. These funds will help provide essential items, including food and toys, to support the care and well-being of the animals.
However, the need for donations continues. Eddie Johnson, a staff member at the Humane Society, shared some of the supplies that make the biggest difference:
“We are always needing donations, blankets, towels, rags, and cat/dog kibble.”
Community support helps organizations like the Humane Society continue caring for animals while they wait for their forever homes. Whether through monetary contributions or donations of everyday essentials, every little bit helps.
